President’s Message

Dear Southern Loss Association Members,

I’m truly honored to serve as the new President of the Southern Loss Association. SLA has a long history of bringing claims professionals together to learn from one another, tackle tough coverage questions, and build strong working relationships across our industry. That spirit of connection and shared knowledge is what makes this organization special.

Before looking ahead, I want to say a sincere thank you to Adrian Medley for his leadership and dedication as our past President. Adrian devoted a great deal of time and energy to strengthening SLA, expanding our educational opportunities, and keeping members engaged. We’re in a great position today because of his efforts, and we all appreciate the work he’s done for this association.

As we kick off this year, our focus remains simple: creating opportunities for open conversation, practical learning, and professional growth in the ever‑changing world of insurance claims. From coverage interpretation to regulatory developments and real‑world claim challenges, SLA exists to help us all stay sharp and connected.

This year, I’m focused on a few key priorities:

  • Bringing in timely, relevant educational topics that reflect the challenges we’re all seeing in the field.
  • Encouraging more member involvement so everyone — from those new to the industry to seasoned professionals — feels welcome to share and participate.
  • Continuing to strengthen relationships across the claims community so SLA remains a trusted and respected resource.

SLA has always been powered by its members. Your experience, questions, and willingness to share what you’ve learned are what make our meetings and events valuable.

I hope you’ll stay involved this year — attend events when you can, join the discussions, and connect with fellow members. Together, we can continue raising the bar for professionalism in the claims industry while supporting one another along the wa
